The 40-year-old actress recently tweeted about the wrap-up of “Grey Anatomy” season 12, which got fans wondering if she is also hinting her goodbye.
“That’s a wrap for Doctor #CallieTorres #Season13 #GreysAnatomy #ThankYou all for an enriching & unforgettable #Rollercoaster ride!” Ramirez said.
In a TV Line report, Ramirez’s contract as cast for “Grey’s Anatomy” will expire in June.
Another speculation was that Callie Torres will be the one who will die, which will be shown in the last four episodes of season 12. Prior to Ramirez’s rumored departure, “Grey Anatomy” already lost two major casts—Sandra Oh in Season 10, and Patrick Dempsey in Season 11.
Another character hinted to bid his goodbye is Demi Lovato’s boyfriend and actor Wilmer Valderrama who plays Kyle Diaz. The actor only signed a short episode contract for “Grey’s Anatomy,” which suggests that his character will die soon.
The Mexican actress’ on-scene partner Jessica Capshaw, meanwhile, continues her stint for “Grey’s Anatomy” as she just inked a three-year deal with the show.
The actress has been with “Grey’s Anatomy” since season 2. If not eyeing for a departure, the report noted that the actress might currently be under negotiation for leverage.
In season 12, Grey’s Anatomy followed Callie Torres’ story on how she battled custody for daughter Sofia. She wanted to take her daughter to New York, but her co-parent Arizona declined the idea as she wanted to keep her in Seattle.
