A sophisticated fight among the bests from the music industry is what we can expect in the Grammy Awards. The recent Grammy nominations make our faith stronger that this year is going to be no different for the most coveted awards in the music world.

The 2016 Grammy awards ceremony is scheduled on February 15, and the list of nominees were announced on Monday. Let us take a look at who is leading in the list.

In the Grammy nominations 2016, Kendrick Lamar along with his album “To Pimp A Butterfly” is holding the top spot. He has grabbed a total of 11 nominations and is surely one of the strongest candidates for this years’ Grammy trophy.

The next name on the list is Taylor Swift, who has bagged a total of 7 nominations. This covers all the three prime categories: Song of the Year, Album of the year and Record of the Year. The one giving tough competition to Taylor Swift is The Weeknd. He is a popular R&B singer, producer and songwriter, who matches with the numbers and categories of Taylor Swift. So yes, the competition is going to be tough, and that is what we can expect.

However, there are some astonishing exclusions in the Grammy nominations 2016 list. It came as a shock for fans of Rihanna that she and her album “FourFiveSeconds” have been left out of the nomination list this year.
