The much-awaited finale of the Fox superhero series “Gotham” season 2 would see the return of a familiar face — Fish Mooney! The character is set to “haunt” Jim Gordon.
Based on its released trailer, the voice over by Hugo Strange (BD Wong) disclosed that Mooney is going to be “back to the world of the living.”
It can be recalled that the last time she was seen on the show was still in season 1 when she was shoved off the rooftop by The Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor).
Following her return to “Gotham” season 2, it is expected that she would bring more excitement to its plot considering that she would be joining Theo Galavan (James Frain) and Victor Fries (Nathan Darrow) as supervillains Azrael and Mr. Freeze, respectively.
Amid her impending re-appearance, some fans declared some reservations.
“Her character really ruined the show for me personally,” Anubis wrote while commenting to Screen Rant’s report.
Meanwhile, another fan wrote, “This show has really been a lot better than last season and I think that has a lot to do with no fish.”
“Hopefully she is just there so she can die again,” Jg added about the reported detail of the “Gotham” season 2 finale. “I don’t see a benefit to her coming back. They must have been running out of ideas to fill in a full seasons order of episodes.”
In the meantime, in the episode “Wrath of the Villains: Unleashed” aired on Monday, Azrael was seen still keen about killing Gordon, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Apart from this piece of detail, it was also noted that Bruce Wayne, the future Batman, was “really taking his soon-to-be alter ego to heart” while trying to bring Hugo and Theo to justice as he plans to break into Arkham.
Catch the “Gotham” season 2 finale on Fox on May 23.
