What's This?

In Syria, in NATO borders, in the Arctic, even in Space, the sound of an impending World War 3 is unyielding. If indeed a third world war erupts, it could spell an end to present civilization. And yet, the discourse was toyed upon by some Republican candidates in order to take jabs against each other during the CNN GOP debate.

Rick Santorum declared that the world had entered World War 3 in his opening statements. “We invented World War 3. World War has begun,” he said in his opening remarks. He then went on lambasting President Barack Obama for signing the Iran nuclear deal.

This was not actually the first time Santorum had floated the issue. On Dec. 9, he had spoken in the same tone following a report released by the International Atomic Energy Agency as previously reported by Morning News USA. According to the documents, Iran engaged in computer modeling of nuclear-explosive devices. The Islamic State also researched on engineering-controlled materials to create weapons until 2009.

In his remarks during Tuesday’s debate, Santorum also supported Donald Trump’s stance against Muslims. He said that the proposal to ban Muslims travel to U.S. was not unconstitutional.

“Islam is different. Islam is not just a religion. It is a political governing structure. It is a religion, it is also Sharia law, a civil government, a form of government. So the idea that that is protected under the First Amendment is wrong,” Santorum said. “Not all Muslims are jihadists. No one including Donald Trump would say that. But the reality is all jihadists are Muslims. That’s a reality. And we have to stop worrying about offending some people and start defending all Americans,” he further stated.

Santorum participated in the undercard debate along with other hopefuls whose polling numbers are low. Others who participated were George Pataki, former Governor Mike Huckabee and Sen. Lindsay Graham.

Rand Paul, on the other hand, took a jab at Chris Christie. “If you’re in favor of World War 3, you’ve got your candidate,” he said.

On CBS This Morning show on Wednesday, Christie launched his own tirades against Paul. “You see the problem for folks like se. Paul is that they don’t realize we’re already in World war 3,” he said. “The fact is this is a new world war and one that won’t look like the last two. And this is one where it’s radical Islamic jihadists everyday are trying to kill Americans and disrupt and destroy our way of life,” he told the show. If Paul does not understand that America is already in World war 3, “then it’s just another example of why he’s so unfit to be president of the U.S.,” Christie said further.
