Rumors had started last year that Google will be manufacturing a Nexus compact and premium tablet for 2016 to break the monopoly of Apple’s iPad business. Google will not be the sole proprietor of the business, but will collaborate with a top-notch Chinese manufacturer to build the tablets.
Speculations are rife that Huawei will be joining hands with the search engine company for working on the two new devices. They will be codenamed Nexus 8P featuring an 8-inch display panel, and Nexus 7X having a 7-inch build.
According to Yibada, the Nexus 8P is built in a metal and glass mold with a highly sophisticated look to it. The slate is expected to come with a Quad HD display with SD 820 main engine and 4GB of RAM. The primary camera of the phone is 8MP. Most likely, the 8P will be a scaled up version of the Nexus 6P released last year.
On the other hand, the 7X, which will sport a 7-inch display, will put some restraints on its hardware specs to make it more affordable. However, the device will share some similarities with the Nexus 5X that was wrapped in premium and plastic finish. Google plans to use polycarbonate for its upcoming 7X to make it look and feel like its predecessor. As for the other specs, the 7X will come powered with 2GB of RAM and also by Snapdragon 808. The device will have a screen resolution of 2K and the rear shooter might be a 5MP sensor.
You can now buy the previous versions, the Nexus 5X and 6P from Google Store at $50 discount. This clearly states that the Nexus 5X will now be priced at $299, while the 6P will costs $499. The deal is valid both in the US and in Canada. It is offered to celebrate the first anniversary of Google Store. It is also worth noting that the deal will be effective till March 27, so you need to hurry before offer ends, states GSM Arena.
