Google Buy Button Finally Unveiled
Google has unveiled a feature called “Purchases on Google,” which will make it easier to purchase from mobile search ads.
The “buy” button works in a simple way. Once you click one of an ad, you will be taken to a page hosted by Google. The page will have the brands of the merchant. The consumer will then be able to directly shop from that page.
In case your search does not match with the results, Google has another solution. You can search for the product on the Google-hosted page. According to the company, it emphasizes on making things easier for customers without hampering the merchant-customer relationship.
Google has been experiencing competition from Amazon. The news was expected for a long time. It has been heard that the tech giant is working on the buy button since May, and it will be here with some major merchants agreeing with the collaboration.
In the month of May, Re/Code reported that “Purchases on Google” is coming soon.
“There’s going to be a buy button. It’s going to be imminent,” chief business officer Omid Kordestani said in a conference.
As the company puts it, “Fewer people wait to head to the mall on Saturday to go shopping.
“Thanks to smartphones, shopping now happens anytime and anywhere.”
According to AD Age, the company also has plans to alert smartphone users of sales and loyalty plans in nearby stores. Local inventory data will be readily available to users soon. So the next time you are going to shop and make a search on Google, you will have lesser steps to follow.
