This stranger man offered help in the sweetest way, leaving every passenger in amazement.

Andrea Byrd, one of the passengers, immediately snapped a photo of the man carrying a baby up and down the aisle. She told TODAY that the man’s gesture was so kind that all of them were pleasantly surprised.

This happened during a Southwest Airlines flight headed for Atlanta from Minneapolis on Sept. 5.

Byrd shared the photo on Facebook and it was an instant hit, with over 100,000 shares in just a few days

She captioned the photo: “…on my flight back to Georgia I saw this man, who was a stranger to this woman, offer to help her because she was pregnant and alone on the flight and her son was upset and fussy. He did not complain, he just told her that he was a DAD, and wanted to help her so she could rest. This MAN walked the aisle most of the flight from Minneapolis to Atlanta comforting this womans son as if he was his own…I was in tears…not because he was white and she was black…but because it showed me today that there are still GOOD people out there in a world full of turmoil. Big UPS to this DAD and all the DADS out there…you are the real MVPS! #REALMENTAKEACTION”

Monica Wilson, the mother of baby Luke, is pregnant with her second child and travelling alone. When her 20-month-old son started getting fuzzy, her seatmate, Reid, helped her.

It turns out, Reid has a son named Luke too. He did not hesitate helping her and carrying the cranky baby so Wilson could get a rest while in-flight.

Byrd said that she can relate to Wilson’s predicament because she has two sons of her own. Travelling with toddlers can be a challenge, especially if the parent or guardian is alone. Good thing there are helpful people like Reid who offers help in the right time.

Byrd hopes that this photo will remind us that a simple act of kindness can go a long way. Let’s all keep an eye on ways to help random people within our reach.
