Tech giants from across the globe are busy readying their new releases for 2016. Samsung is part of the league, set to release the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge during Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. In some recent leaked images, the two phones appear in gold and silver colors.Advertisement
Pegged for release at a packed event on Feb. 21 in Barcelona, the Samsung Galaxy S7 is expected to come in gold, while the Galaxy S7 Edge in silver, notes Tech Times. Purported images of the Galaxy S7 reveal that the device will come in gold finish.
Meanwhile, Twitter user Evan Blass posted images of the Galaxy S7 Edge on the social networking site revealing the phone in silver finish. A close look at the image shows curved edges of the phone and less rounded home button along with new wallpaper for the screen.
Previous leaked images of the devices showed stunning black hue as a strong possibility. If latest rumors turn out true, you will have a second color option for the devices.
Adding varied colored options help to boost sales of smartphones. Last year, Samsung introduced a range of colors like White Pearl, Gold Platinum and Black Sapphire for its flagship models. Likewise, the Galaxy S6 was introduced in Blue Topaz and the Galaxy S6 Edge was sold in Green Emerald.
According to GSM Arena, the Samsung Galaxy S7 will sport a 5.1-inch screen with 1440×2560 pixel resolution. The device will use Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system at its core and Qualcomm’s MSM8996 Snapdragon 820 processor. The camera features include phase detection autofocus, dual-LED flash, touch focus, face detection, Auto HDR, etc. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11, v4.2 Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, infrared port, and so on.
Specs wise, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is equally competent with a Snapdragon 820 chipset for the phone. It is likely to use BRITECELL sensor technology with support for Samsung’s WDR technology and Phase-detection auto-focus for its camera, reports Android Pit.
