Giant Robots Combat Is The Next International Sport To Watch Out For
The MegaBots, the American company that aims to make humanoid robots fighting in combat arena the next international sport, is working to upgrade its “most American robot ever made.” This is in preparation to the first ever robot fight against Japan’s humanoid counterpart which is set to happen on August 2016. MegaBots is looking to arm its battle robot complete with armor for both distance and hand-to-hand combat.
Changing the landscape of sports
Morning News USA reported in July that experts of the sport industry are saying that the giant robot combat is soon to change the landscape of sports. People will soon talk about two giant humanoid robots fighting to their destruction instead of waiting for the next Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather match. The first ever giant robot combat may soon take place off on international waters, aboard a ship or aircraft carrier in the Pacific Ocean.
MegaBots’ Mark II robot needs help
According to an email from MegaBots received by Morning News USA, the company had been working around the clock to assemble Team USA and work on the upgrades of the Mark II robot. The company is aiming to improve its capacity for hand-to-hand combat. The company needs help to attain this goal and it is inviting everyone to a Kickstarter campaign at 8 a.m. ET on Tuesday, Aug. 18.
“We now have a solid plan and a team that includes celebrities, high-end engineering companies, government agencies, and entertainment advisers that has to be seen to be believed,” the company said in the email.
“With your help, we can defeat Japan and kick off the international sport we’ve all been dreaming of!,” the company said.
MegaBots also posted its invitation via their Facebook page, saying that the Kickstarter campaign will have a “team of patriots that will blow your minds.”
