CES 2016: LG’s K Series smartphones with advanced camera technology, Nvidia’s supercomputer for self-driving cars, Volkswagen’s gesture control and more tech newsare being announced. Here comes another announcement about Gear S2, the Samsung wearable. Read on for details.
Samsung at the press conference during CES 2016 announced that starting this year, iOS compatibility will be added to Gear S2. “Today, we’re excited to share that we will be bringing Gear S2 to iOS later this year!” said Samsung at the show. Other than this, no information was provided with regards to exact month or date, features supported, etc.
Gear S2, Samsung smartwatch, is the latest wearable from the company that runs on Tizen instead of Android. As this watch is still in its early days, it supports only select Android devices. The wearable’s compatibility with iOS is something to look forward to, as Apple and Samsung are already competing in the smartwatch domain, too. So, with iOS compatibility, is Samsung trying to pull iOS customers to Tizen? Probably yes.
Many a times, when gadgets become compatible with operating systems, the device supports only a few features. For example, if the watch has added Facebook, notifications will pop-up on your watch, but you will not be able to take any action like read the news story or like/comment on a story.
