With Game of Thrones season 7 still months away, many are waiting for updates regarding the hit medieval-fantasy show. Now, new developments are being uncovered in Belfast, Northern Ireland as Nikolaj Coster-Waldau a.k.a. Jaime Lannister has been spotted in the location.
As many diehard fans know, Belfast is where most of the scenes from Westeros are shot as well as many CGI scenes in Essos. The highly-praised Battle of the Bastards was also filmed in Northern Island which means the presence of Coster-Waldau in the location could only mean that the seventh season of the show has begun filming.
According to Wiki of Thrones, a reader named Jon Joe recently sent a photo showing him and the Kingslayer himself. Fans also showed photos of Euron Greyjoy, Theon Greyjoy, Tyrion Lannister and the Mad Queen Cersei Lannister.
Game of Thrones Coming To An End
Showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss revealed that production of Game of Thrones season 7 will be delayed. With winter coming to Westeros, they are currently waiting for colder, gloomier weather to begin production.
With the year slowly coming to an end, the perfect winter weather is now within reach. The presence of the show’s cast in Belfast is the only clue we need to safely conclude that production is well on its way.
After season 6 introduced us to the new King in the North as well as the beginning of the Targaryen invasion, season 7 is perhaps the most anticipated in the history of the show. The beginning of the Long Night is expected to be shown later in this season.
Though the show approaching its climax is definitely exciting, the fact that it ushers in the endgame certainly is disheartening. Also with only two more seasons left, our only hope is the big shots at HBO decide to make a sequel.
Game of Thrones season seven is set to premiere fall of 2017, exclusively on HBO.
