Game Of Thrones’ Season 6 Teaser: Teaser Hints Jon Snow’s Return
HBO just can’t seem to let “Game of Thrones” fans rest as it recently published photos of the dead characters of the franchise. Although Jon Snow was last seen stabbed by the Night’s Watch men, his faced appeared to have scars, which could hint that the character may be well, alive, or revived, in season 6.Advertisement
A recently released trailer for “Game of Thrones” season 6 was posted by HBO last week. The said video shows the faces of lead characters, both dead and living, in the House of Black and White’s Hall of Faces. Although the trailer does not reveal much, it does quite hint at something about Jon Snow.
As reported by CNN Money, HBO shared a tweet on its “Game of Thrones” profile. The said post was supposed to be a teaser for what’s to come in season 6. However, the photos released were just frames from the released trailer of last week. However, it was apparent that Jon Snow’s face was shown – a face with scars on it.
Judging from season 5, the character was already dead, as was reiterated by the show’s producers and the lead actor himself, Kit Harrington. However, since the trailer incorporates Jon Snow saying lines like, “the long night is coming,” it could hint that he would play a huge role in the series.
More so, fans have theorized that his bloodline would be revealed come season six, especially with regards to him being a son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark, the latter being his so-called father Ned Stark’s sister. Others also point out that Melisandre would be the one to bring him back from the dead with the use of the God of Light’s power.
In other news, IGN reports that Catelyn Stark may also play a huge role in the season. The last fans saw of the character was when she died during the Red Wedding during season three. However, the fact that she, Snow, and other dead characters were shown in the teaser photos and trailer, does it indicate that they will be revived eventually?
Fans speculate that the plot for “Game of Thrones” season six would be entirely different from that of George R.R. Martin’s books or from previous seasons. The speculation arose when fans thought that the lack of reference to Martin’s books is a sign that HBO plans to install their own views on the show.
Furthermore, when the official cast members were announced, it was revealed that Ian McShane was the only new member whose role was not revealed. Judging from the books, the character Howland Reed would be of utmost importance to the storyline of the series. Since the character is currently the only living witness to Lyanna Stark’s death, and since fans speculate that Jon Snow’s real parents would be revealed in this year’s season, is Reed the part McShane will play?
