“Game of Thrones” season 6 is already bloody with just the first two episodes airing. Fans are now concerned the show has become much more violent than ever. Unfortunately for them, the violent scenes are not likely to disappear soon.
Warning: Spoilers for those who haven’t watched the first two episodes
According to Watchers on the Wall, the series’ portrayal of violence is going to persist until the end of the series. Although the majority of the fans definitely don’t watch the show just for the violence, it is undeniable that it is one of the reasons why the show is so popular.
After last week’s “Home” featuring Ramsay Bolton turning a newborn baby into his dog’s a chew toy, many believed the show’s violence has gone too far. Killing his father made some fans like him for finally getting some revenge for the Red Wedding, until the scenes with the hounds that is.
The Washington Post reported that in a sheer act of cruelty that even die hard ‘Game of Thrones’ fans can barely stomach how he dispatched of his potential rival. It shouldn’t have been a shock since we’re talking about Ramsay Bolton here but it seems the act was too violent even for his standards.
It’s obvious that fans have had enough of his murderous antics and it is well deserved. But it doesn’t mean that he should stop doing what he does just because many feel uncomfortable about it.
Every time he shoves a knife into someone’s chest or unleashes his hounds, fans get more emotional about his character. It’s not like they love him or anything, all they want is to see him get what’s coming to him.
The prospect of watching Ramsay Bolton suffer a brutal death is good enough for fans to stick with the series until it ends. Defitely like Joffrey’s, Bolton’s end will be one of the few deaths in ‘Game of Thrones’ that will be met with celebration.
