Game of Thrones season 6 premiered last Sunday without answering many questions. Besides confirming that Jon Snow has really bit the dust, and revealing that Melisandre is REALLY old, the first episode did nothing more than provide a continuation to season 5’s cliffhanger ending.
To find out more about the fates of our favorite (living) characters in Game of Thrones Season 6 we turn to HBO’s synopsis of the next 2 episodes. Unfortunately, these are anything but clear, so we’ll just have to try our best at decoding them.
WARNING: Spoilers Ahead
E! Online revealed in their report the titles and synopsis of the next two episodes. The second episode titled “Home” involves Bran training with the Three-Eyed Raven, Jaime Lannister advising Tommen in Kings Landing, Tyrion Lannister demanding good news, and The Night’s Watch giving their support to Thorne in Castle Black. There’s also Ramsay Bolton proposing a plan and Balon Greyjoy entertaining proposals. Thank you, HBO!
Aside from the obvious training with Bran and the situation at Castle Black, we will try and shed light to the rest of the clues.
Jaime advising Tommen may imply an impending war with Dorne. With the pacifist Prince Doran murdered, there’s no one stopping the vengeful Ellaria controlling Dorne and its armies. Tyrion’s good news might pertain to information regarding the Sons of the Harpy after the huge fire in Mereen or regarding Daario and Jorah returning with knowledge of Daenerys’ whereabouts.
Ramsay’s plan might reveal how he intends to keep his position as heir to House Bolton. His father has already threatened that without Sansa to produce an heir, he plans to replace him with his child through Walda Frey. Balon Greyjoy entertaining proposals might involve him meeting with his brothers, since it has been confirmed that Victarion Greyjoy will make an appearance in Game of Thrones season 6.
The third episode titled “Oathbreaker” is where HBO reveals that: Daenerys will meet her future, Bran will meet his past, and Tommen will confront the High Sparrow. It is also here where Arya trains to be No One, Ramsay receives a gift, and Varys finds an answer. Again, very much appreciated, HBO!
Arya training to be No One is already a given after the first episode where The Waif tells her she will be back the following day. Daenerys meeting her future is vague, but it will definitely happen in Vaes Dothrak after Khal Moro’s decision in the first episode. Margaery will most likely be the subject of Tommen’s talk with the High Sparrow. Bran’s blast from the past will most likely involve events from the first season. The answer Varys receives is possibly information about the leader of the Sons of the Harpy.
There is no clue concerning Ramsay’s gift and could mean almost anything: a brother, a threat to his life, or even Sansa.
These are all speculation made by connecting available clues from Game of Thrones Season 6. There’s only one way to find out what these means and that is to watch Game of Thrones every Sunday on HBO.
