“Game of Thrones” has released a new set of photos for the upcoming episode titled “The Door.” A closer look at the photos gives fans an idea of what is going to happen in Sunday’s episode.
Watchers on the Wall has revealed new stills from the fifth episode which show various characters dealing with the aftermath of the events of Book of the Stranger. The stills even include a photo of the red priestess Kinvara as well as Leaf with other Children of the Forest.
The one getting the most attention is Bran’s encounter with the Night’s King. The scene was already previewed even before season 6 premiered and hints that he and his powers are pivotal in repelling the White Walkers.
The encounter occurs during one of Bran’s visions and judging from Meera’s panicked reaction there is an imminent danger. Is the Night’s King aware of Bran’s powers and that he must be taken before of before they begin their assault on the Seven Kingdoms?
Another hint that can be taken from the photos involves Sansa Stark and Littlefinger’s tense encounter. If he is with Sansa, it can be concluded that they are in Castle Black and after the last episode, it can safely be assumed that he has brought along the knights of the Vale.
If Littlefinger is already meeting with Sansa and Jon Snow it could only mean that his alliance with the Boltons died with Roose. If the knights of the Vale reinforce the meager forces of Jon Snow they might be able to stand the onslaught of Ramsay’s forces.
Lastly, one of the stills shows Leaf along with other Children in a very different landscape that where she is currently in “Game of Thrones.”They seem to be lying on the grass in a forest somewhere in the northern part of Westeros.
Is this a vision from the past or has leaf made contact with what remains of her race to recruit them in the coming war with the White Walkers? The Children, along with the First Men, helped fend off the first walkers in the Long Night using dragon glass and magic, will we finally see what the Children of the Forest are capable of?
Every episode of Game of Thrones has been revealing more and more about the Westeros. Gone are the days of political bickering in Kings Landing, now the events surrounding the Seven Kingdoms no longer revolve around the actions of a few characters.
