WARNING: Spoilers Ahead

The term “rags to riches” rang true for Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen in ‘Book of the Stranger’. After being held captive for days in Vaes Dothrak with her fate to be decided by the khals, she seized power in the only the most Targaryen way possible — by burning them.

After HBO’s preview for future episodes of “Game of Thrones” showed a dragon’s shadow flying over a horde of Dothraki, many believed that Drogon or her other dragons would come to her aid.

As the temple of the Dosh Khaleen burned, Daenerys showed everyone she doesn’t need a man, or dragons for that matter, to come to her rescue.

Now with Khal Moro and his blood riders dead, Daenerys Targaryen has now added his khalasar to her army. Originally, Daenerys had wanted to enlist the Dothraki in her invasion of Westeros which ended when her husband Khal Drogo died.

Now with Khal Moro’s khalasar added to her dragons, the Unsullied, and The Second Sons there is little that stands between her and the restoration of Targaryen rule.

First order of business for her would be to restore order in Slaver’s Bay. After Tyrion Lannister bought her time with her negotiations with the masters, she can either decide to put the masters to death or go through with Tyrion’s proposal.

With her ships in Mereen burnt to a crisp by the Sons of the Harpy, it has to be rebuilt to before they can set sail for Westeros. The current tensions in the Seven Kingdoms are now ripe for another war which might even help her cause by reducing future resistance once she crosses the Narrow Sea.

With these new developments from “Book of the Stranger,” it seems Daenerys Targaryen’s quest to reclaim the Iron Throne is going steadily. Watch future episodes of ‘Game of Thrones’ every Sunday to find out more.
