‘Game Of Thrones’ Episode 9 Trailer: Who Dies At The ‘Battle Of The Bastards?’
Ramsay and Walda Bolton from Game of Thrones / HBO

“Game of Thrones” fans weren’t exactly pleased with episode 8 after cutting out The Blackfish and Arya’s fight scenes as well as Tyrion’s underwhelming return after several episodes of absence. But episode 9 plans to undo all that with a full-episode long battle between the Bastard of Winterfell and the Bastard of the Dreadfort.

Directed by Miguel Sapochnik, “Battle of the Bastards” will also break the 60-minute mark and will feature climax of the northern conflict. After being missing for most of the latter part of the season, Ramsay Bolton will finally rear his sadistic head for possibly the last time.

From the trailer, it looks like Jon Snow has gathered more men to add to his meagre force of wildlings. The Bastard of Bolton, on the other hand, is in command of a large force composed of mostly Bolton, Umber, and Karstark men.

The voice over reveals Sansa and Jon Snow’s conversations about his previous battles telling her that he has face much bigger odds and have triumphed. Sansa however, tells him that he does not know Ramsay.

Much like last season’s Hardhome, which Sapochnik also directed and season 2’s The Blackwater, this will be the climactic end to one of “Game of Thrones” biggest conflict. Although it is pretty sure that Jon Snow will emerge victorious, it doesn’t mean that everyone will get off scot free.

From the looks of things, it seems that both Wun Wun and Tormund’s life are in danger. With the odds stacked against him will Jon Snow and Sansa Stark triumph over Ramsay?

Many bet that the letter Sansa wrote to Littlefinger will be the saving grace for the Starks. With the Knights of the Vale arriving just in time to turn the tide of battle, the Bolton army will definitely be crushed, but at what cost to Sansa?

Watch “Game of Thrones” episode 9 Battle of the Bastards this Sunday only on HBO.
