Max von Sydow has been cast as the Three-eyed Raven, while Ian McShane takes on a mysterious role for the Game of Thrones season 6. The production is also looking for someone to take on the role of a 30-year-old “hapless sly son to cruel father.”

Meanwhile, Sophie Turner/Sansa Stark, Catelyn Stark/Michelle Fairley were spotted in the Game of Thrones set in Belfast.

Three-Eyed Raven

Sydow will take the role of the three-eyed raven originated by Struan Rodger in the previous season, Variety has exclusively reported. Sydow’s screen time will be brief but will significantly move the story forward, according to Variety. With Sydow included in the next season, it only follows that Bran and his allies will also be making a comeback in “Game of Thrones” season 6.

Casting call for a “hapless sly son to cruel father” – ‘Game of Thrones Season 6’ plot spoiler alert!

Staff at Watchers On The Wall is in exclusive possession of a copy of a casting call for a 30-year-old man for the role of “hapless sly son to cruel father.” The description alone is a dead giveaway that the production is looking to cast a son for Frey. Reading between the lines, the description is also looking for someone with similar features to David Bradley.

“This is a very good part in this season who appears in three episodes. We need a characterful looking guy – long nose and skeletal features and perhaps a bit sly – to play a son who is unable to live up to the demands of his savage father. We need a really good actor for this part – he has good scenes with lots of the leading cast. The character has a great storyline. There are no options and this is a one-off opportunity for a good clever actor to come and make his mark on this major hit show,” the casting call description reads.

Watchers On The Wall noted that one of the filming dates for the said role, August 24, coincided to the filming dates given to Flynn, Japeth and Lachlan.

Meanwhile, fans are reporting to Watchers On The Wall about having spotted Sansa Stark and Catelyn Stark in the Game of Thrones unit base in Moneyglass, Belfast.
