Tabloids and social media circled in on several spoilers that came along with the agonizing wait about when “Game of Thrones” season 6 will premiere. While avid fans were waiting for an official announcement from HBO, the actors and actresses of the film gave spoilers with regards to their characters for the season. Starting from the revival of Kit Harington’s Jon Snow, who died in season five, to the return of Bran Stark, the wait became more agonizing.
The author of the novels, George R.R. Martin, recently announced that he will not be able to complete the book for season six before it airs this year.
Despite the absence of textual reference, still finally announced that “Game of Thrones” season 6 will air this April, reports Entertainment Weekly. In fact, two other series would premiere for their latest seasons on the same date: Veep and Silicon Valley.
In other news, Comingsoon.net confirmed the actors and actresses who will retain their roles from the previous seasons. These include the Emmy and Golden Globe winner Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister), Natalie Dormer (Margaery Tyrell), Maisie Williams (Arya Stark), Kit Harington (Jon Snow), Aidan Gillen (Petyr “Littlefinger” Baelish), Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister), Diana Rigg (Olenna Tyrell), and Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister), among others.
Game of Thrones season 6, its script based on George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire, will air on HBO this April 24, 2016.
