What's This?

“Game of Thrones” Episode 10 saw Jon Snow being declared King in the North as well as the revelation of his Targaryen heritage. These two developments, however, contradict each other.

This is a dilemma for Lord Snow if he ever wants to keep his rule of the north. He is a Stark of course, just not the right Stark for the job. Daenerys Targaryen’s ships are no match for the solution fans are shipping.

Jon Snow will marry Sansa Stark to cement his position as King in the North, sounds farfetched?

Not as much as you think. Even Littlefinger is on board with the idea, or at least the actor is.

In an interview with the Huffington Post, Aidan Gillen was asked about the pair. According to him, they do have potential but having been raised as siblings they probably wouldn’t want to go there.

After “Game of Thrones” explicitly revealed who Jon Snow’s parents were, there is a possibility of Sansa and him getting together. While it is currently just Bran who knows the truth, the fact of the matter is, they are cousins.

Marriage between first cousins is not considered incest in Westerosi law. Prime examples are Tywin and Joanna Lannister and even Jon Snow’s own grandparents. This is in addition to being a Targaryen who already have a history of incest.

The possible pairing could have already been hinted in the season 6 during their time together in the battlements of Winterfell. Jon tells Sansa that they have to trust each other before giving her a “brotherly” hug and kiss on the forehead.

It would be interesting to see these to develop into a couple since it has been a while since Ygritte died. Whether the King in the North weds a Stark or a Targaryen we will know soon enough.

Catch “Game of Thrones” Season 7 when it premieres spring 2017.
