A Pokemon Go styled Game of Thrones game is something that the GoT fans would love to have on their phones. The idea that has been playing in the minds of most avid gamers have crossed that of global product marketing lead for Pokemon Go and Ingress at Niantic Labs, Archit Bhargava’s as well.

“My personal fantasy is like a Game of Thrones game where Westeros is mapped out on Earth and you join House Stark or whatever,” Bhargava was quoted as saying by the GameSpot.

Bhargava’s comment was made during the launch of Pokemon Go. But after the app became a massive success, the idea of creating similar gaming apps doesn’t appear to be off the radar well.

Bhargava’s statement captured the fantasy of the Game of Thrones fans, where players can either choose to join the Starks, Lannisters, Targaryens or the Boltons and proceed up the levels by conquering territories like the bannermen, the CNET reported.

Another location-based augmented reality games by the Niantic Labs, Ingress, divides the players into opposing factions and thus it is not too difficult to imagine the Game of Thrones on the same platform as well.

The News.com.au reported that for such an idea to be implemented, the creators are required to acquire the rights from the owners of the HBO series, but that has not stopped the Game of Thrones fans to stop dreaming being a part of the world that has mesmerized them for six seasons.

Nintendo teamed up with the Niantic Labs to launch the Pokemon Go app, which soon became a sensation, and added around $9 billion to the market value of Nintendo in the past week. The success of Pokemon Go giving way to the Game of Thrones game will only be the beginning of a trend, with more games lined up if the idea is finally realized.
