The call among netizens for Disney to renally produce an LGBT-themed fairy tale via “Frozen 2” has become intense. If two queens rule Arendelle, what will Princess Anna’s reaction be? Will she be supportive?
In a report, Seventeen revealed that a Twitter user named Alexis Isabel has started a campaign to put an end to the “hetero-normative pattern” of love story which the animation studio has been known for all these years.
By starting the hashtag #GiveElsaAGirlfriend, Alexis Isabel was able to ignite a fire in the Twitter world as more users supported the call.
Kenneth Sergienko (@@KenSergienko made emphasis on representation when he aired his opinion.
“Given that Frozen was one giant metaphor for the closet, to #GiveElsaAGirlfriend is just logical. More LGBT representation is a great idea,” he commented about the “Frozen 2” plot being pushed by Alexis Isabel.
This was echoed by another fan.
“#GiveElsaAGirlfriend cuz damn if there was representation when I was a kid I would have known that luv isn’t only between a guy and girl,” posted Gabrielle (@gabriellediana).
For Jeffrey Marsh (@thejeffreymarsh), this kind of plot for “Frozen 2” could possibly bring out the confidence among children belonging to the LGBT community.
“#GiveElsaAGirlfriend because LGBT kids deserve to know that there is nothing wrong with them,” he wrote.
The entertainment site hinted that there could be a chance for Disney to consider the call considering that it has already introduced a gay role in the Disney Channel show “Good Luck Charlie.”
Does it mean that “Frozen 2” would have two queens ruling Arendelle?
In the meantime, if Elsa could possibly get a girlfriend in the second installment of the film, Olaf would not get romantically involved with anyone, Morning Ledger reported.
Accordingly, Josh Gad, the voice behind the loveable snowman, was reluctant about the character falling in love.
If there would be nothing or someone new in Olaf’s life, the report claimed that both the snow queen and her sister Princess Ana would don new outfits in “Frozen 2.”
