Will “Frozen 2” introduce Tinkerbell as Elsa’s girlfriend? The latest news circulating seem to confirm just that!
Actress Idina Menzel and Kristen Bell, the voices behind “Frozen” lead characters Elsa and Ann, appeared on Tyler Oakley’s show on Ellen Digital Network and talked about the possible girlfriend of Elsa.
Tyler Oakley first asked Kristen Bell about the possibility of Elsa having a girlfriend, following an online campaign which lobbies for the character to come out as lesbian.
“There’s been speculation on the Internet about Elsa potentially being a lesbian,” he asked. “Can you confirm that?”
But Kristen Bell decided to keep mum about the possibility and only said, “Whatever Elsa wants to do is up to her and it’s up to us to support her.”
Idina Menzel, meanwhile, echoed Kristen Bell’s thoughts and said she would have to kill Tyler Oakley if she confirms Elsa’s sexuality, E! Online said.
“I cannot confirm or deny,” she said. “If I tell you, I would have to kill you.”
She added that Elsa in “Frozen 1” was still young and is still figuring out stuff in her life.
However Idina Menzel pitched a possible girlfriend for Elsa if ever she comes out as gay—Tinkerbell.
Could Tinkerbell be introduced as Elsa’s girlfriend should Disney release “Frozen 2”?
“What we have been doing, is we are doing an Olaf special next year,” she said. “And we have recorded music and dialogue for that.”
Disney was recently slammed after it failed in the GLAAD’s LGBT report card as they did not use any LGBT characters before.
GLAAD’s LGBT report card is a yearly evaluation of studious who gives representations of LGBT in their films.
Following this, the hashtag #GiveElsaAGirlfriend trended on Twitter which persuades Disney to give the lead character a partner.
