Free NASA Space Travel Posters: How & Where To Get Them
The Jet Propulsion Lab of NASA has unleashed a free online series of space travel posters described as equal parts retro-chic and sheer design genius. The space travel posters tagline goes by: “Kepler186f—Where The Grass Is Always Redder On The Other Side,” “Venus—See You At The Cloud 9 Conservatory,” and the “Visions of The Future.”Advertisement
The Visions of The Future space travel posters include 14 free, downloadable posters, each as visually striking as the next.
Travel and Leisure stated that the Jet Propulsion Laboratory website’s explanation of the poster series read as, “We make great efforts to be bold in advancing the edge of possibility, so that time will come, with the help of new generations of innovators and explorers, these perceptions of the future can become a reality.”
According to Jpl.Nasa, the images are free for individuals to print. However, a few posters need to be purchased and are available online. It is also okay for anybody to print them and display them. The full-size files posted on the site can be shared freely on Facebook or Twitter.
Mashable reports that each of the poster serves as an explanation of a specific historic space mission. Invisible Creature hopes to bring art into existence for the Voyager’s Grand Tour, the discovery of Enceladus and the Mars exploration program of NASA .
The designer behind Invisible Creature graphic design studio, Don Clark, stated, “My objective with these space travel posters was that individuals would want to hang them up and saying that they were attractive and that they lived up to the standard that is NASA.” “We were motivated by vintage travel posters, WPA-type posters from the 1930s and then all the way up to mid-century modern— 1940s, 1950s, 1960s.”
The designer also said, “We want that vintage look but we want it to feel contemporary as well.”
