There is never a dull moment for Tom Cavanagh in “The Flash,” for he gets to play an array of different characters on the show, which keeps jumping from bad to good as the series progresses. So which character is he going to embody in season 3?
‘The Flash’ Season 2 Finale
There is an endless number of possibilities created by Barry by introducing Flashpoint into the storyline of “The Flash.” The season 2 finale episode of “The Flash” showed Barry travelling back in time to the moment his mother was killed by the Reverse-Flash.
It was already emphasized earlier in the series that drastic changes can happen if the natural timeline is messed with. Hence, it is still to be seen what consequences follows Barry’s decision to disrupt the course of things.
Perhaps, the biggest change could be the Reverse-Flash’s reentry into Barry’s life, shaking up his universe yet again. Eobard Thawne is not a fan of losing, and preventing him from killing Barry’s mother is not going to go down well with him.
‘The Flash’ Season 3
But would Barry turn into The Flash at all in the alternate timeline that he has created, where he gets to enjoy a happy family? Barry becomes a CSI expert and a speedster after being haunted by a sense of loss and the determination to seek justice, reports CarterMatt. What is going to drive him to become a superhero, now that he gets to have a happy ending?
“The Flash” season 2 saw the Earth-2 Harrison Wells going back to his own world. This makes sense if the creators of the show are planning to bring back Reverse-Flash next season. It is confusing enough that Tom Cavanagh is embodying the same person from two different earths. One does not need a good and evil version of the same person running around in one season.
“Details on next season are being kept tightly under wraps, but I can tell you that Tom Cavanagh will be back as a series regular for season 3. Consider this: If the show does indeed move forward with Flashpoint, then the Reverse-Flash never killed Earth-1 Harrison Wells and his wife, meaning we could see the original Wells next season. Maybe. Hopefully,” said a source on Entertainment Weekly.
