Barry has already created an alternate universe by introducing the Flashpoint into “The Flash” season 2 finale. Will it be too much to ask if “Supergirl” Kara and Barry hook up in the next season of “The Flash”?
Barry has encountered bespectacled blondes before, but not one who possessed super powers like Kara, the “Supergirl.” Besides, Felicity Smoak of “Arrow” was way too similar to Barry to actually have any sparks flying between them, reports Cinema Blend. Hence, both decided to stay nothing more than friends.
‘Supergirl’ Season 2
But with “Supergirl” moving to CW, just like “The Flash”, chances of Barry and Kara crossing paths again becomes inevitable, reports Movie News Guide. So will the audience see chemistry between the two superheroes? Amusingly, the actors embodying the two superheroes seem to have a difference of opinion when it comes to answering this question.
Melissa Benoist, who plays Kara on “Supergirl,” said, “I don’t know that they’d ever get together. I think they’re too similar. I think they’d like pig out on… I think they’re pals, pigging out on ice cream.”
‘The Flash’ Season 3
However, Grant Gustin, who is Barry, a.k.a The Flash has a more positive outlook and believes that Supergirl and The Flash “would be a good match.” He also voiced his excitement at the possibility of more crossovers between the two shows in the future:
“We had a really fun dynamic and I bet next year, there’s probably more crossovers than we’ve ever had.”
During the single crossover that happened between the two shows so far, entitled “Worlds Finest”, not many sparks were seen flying between the superheroes, despite the fact that the pair looked good together.
For the time being, however, Barry is seen romancing Iris on his show, while Kara pines over James on hers. However, anything is possible, with both shows in the same network in the future, not to mention the spike in ratings if such a “super” love story come into being.
