‘Fifty Shades Darker’ Cast Updates: Grey’s Exes, Killer Roles Filled

“Fifty Shades Darker” is just around the corner and another possible cast member is under talks of playing Jack Hyde, the nemesis of Christian Grey in the E.L. James “Fifty Shades of Grey” series. Furthermore, Kim Basinger and Bella Heathcote was cast to play Christian Grey’s exes as well.


As reported by Variety, Eric Johnson was rumored to be under negotiations with “Fifty Shades Darker” cast officials to land the role of Jack Hyde. The character in the novel poses as Anastasia Steele’s first boss, the kind of boss who sexually harasses his employees.

The character then pursues Steele, but since she is under maximum supervision from her boyfriend, Christian Grey, the latter has him arrested when Hyde tries to engage Steele frantically. However, Hyde will be able to evade authorities and will be in pursuit of revenge against Grey in “Fifty Shades Darker.” The character will also appear in “Fifty Shades Freed.”

In other news, Variety also reports that Bella Heathcote has been cast to play Christian Grey’s ex-submissive, Leila. The character will play a depressed girl who will still be tremendously in-love with Christian Grey and will contact Anastasia like a creepy stalker. Furthermore, Arielle Kebbel was also cast as Gia Matteo, also one of Christian Grey’s ex-submissives.

Furthermore, Kim Basinger was also cast to play Mrs. Robinson, also known as Elena Lincoln, in “Fifty Shades Darker.” She will play the older woman who introduced Christian Grey to the world of submissive-dominant sex. In fact, she will also be determined to come in between Grey and Steele as the story unfolds, especially when she is Grey’s good friend and business partner.

As reported by Entertainment Weekly, “Fifty Shades Darker” and “Fifty Shades Freed” will be directed by James Foley after Sam Taylor-Johnson, the initial director for “Fifty Shades of Grey” backed out due to irreconcilable differences with the James. Also, the crew will be filming for its first six months in Paris.

“Fifty Shades Darker” is in near-completion as the cast members fill their roles. The movie will release on theaters this February 10, 2017.
