Belgium has made history by clinching the No 1 spot in the new FIFA rankings for the first time. Belgium were at the third position in the previous rankings, released by the FIFA. The Germans were at second following World Cup runner-up Argentina at the top, according to last month’s ranking.

World champions Germany lost to Ireland in the Euro Qualifier last week, as reported by Morning News USA. Argentina lost against Ecuador and got demoted from the No 1 spot. Belgium currently has the highest with 1440 ranking points.

In 2009, Belgium were lowly placed at 66th.
