Feuer Powertrain North America Inc. has announced that it is looking to hire various employees to join its crankshaft machining operations in the U.S. The company is a subsidiary of Feuer Powertrain GmbH & Co. based out of Nordhausen, Germany.
Feuer Powertrain North America says its facility is currently under construction in Tunica County, Mississippi. Once completed, it will become the company’s first production facility built outside Germany. Moreover, this plant will be expected to initially produce the 5.0L V8 diesel crankshaft for the North American market. Nonetheless, the Tunica plant is also expected to be able to produce crankshafts ranging from 3 cylinders to 12 cylinders.
According to a report from Channel 3 News, Feuer North America is looking to provide more than 300 jobs to the area. Current job positions available include CNC machine operator, final inspector, engineering manager, IT specialist, quality/measuring room technician, maintenance technician as well as general labor. The crankshafts that will be made in the Tunica facility will reportedly be supplied to companies such as Volkswagen, Audi, Ferrari, Maserati, Rolls Royce, BMW, Scania, GM Polaris, JCB, Cummins and more. Moreover, the first V8 diesel crankshaft to be produced in Tunica will be for Cummins, who will then supply it for the Nissan Titan.
According to Feuer, the company has already started hiring some management positions. Moreover, there are already as much as 39 employees reportedly on staff as of the moment. All employees will reportedly need to submit to a background check.
The new Tunica plant is set to open officially early next year.
