“Fast and Furious 8” is set to wrap up filming but it looks like there will be something left on the table once the cast and crew pack up. Two of the movie’s top stars seem to be feuding and the friction between Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Vin Diesel seems far from over.
Where did it all start?
Word about the growing friction between The Rock and Diesel started when the former WWE star made a cryptic post about an ‘unprofessional male co-star’. Surprisingly, the post was aimed at Diesel and the two had a secret meeting to thresh it out.
Diesel is one of the producers of the show and according to reports from TMZ, some didn’t sit well with the wrestling star. Tensions reached a feverish pitch at some point, hence the reason why the two had to secretly talk.
It doesn’t look like the beef between the two has been resolved. Both stars are filming their final shoots with the Rock recently posting (again) on Instagram. The post carried a message the seemed harmless, in a separate post from TMZ:
“And like with any team — that’s a family — there’s gonna be conflict. Family is gonna have differences of opinion and fundamental core beliefs. To me, conflict can be a good thing, when its followed by great resolution. I was raised on healthy conflict and welcome it.”
Rock’s Last Ride?
When the Rock went off on social media with his tirade, the entire cast reportedly grew angry at the WWE star. Some cast members were reportedly disappointed particularly because filming was almost done.
Moving forward, it seems almost likely that this will be the last time the Rock will be cast for the Fast & Furious franchise. Spin-offs are rumored and one curiously involves Johnson’s character, Luke Hobbs. But all those plans were before the falling out meaning it may likely be out of the picture.
