After all the drama that unfolded between Kanye West and Taylor Swift around the lyrics of the song Famous, it has emerged that West did not even write them.

According to Rihanna’s ex-PR rep Jonathan Hay, Cyhi The Prynce, also known as Cydel Young, is the one who penned down the lyrics for the song.

“The lyrics are written by Cydel,” Jonathan told The Sun. “Kanye got all the backlash but he isn’t even the one who wrote them. Cydel lays down the lines and Kanye will then okay them and perform them.”

Young has been credited as a songwriter on Famous. Thus it is actually possible that the part that created so much of controversy was actually Young’s idea and not West’s? According to a report by Hollywood Life, that is not the case.

“Cyhi is a creative contributor on the song, in which he has been credited accordingly. However, the specific Taylor lyrics were written by Kanye himself,” said a source close to Kanye West.

The part of the lyrics of the song Famous, referring to Swift as “that b***h” has created a stir so big that it divided the music industry in two. Kim Kardashian released a Snapchat video of a phone conversation between West and Swift in which the Bad Blood singer apparently gave permission to use her name in the lyric.

Swift later said that it was the reference made to her as “that b***h” which was her point. West recently said that he was glad that his wife’s phone had Snapchat.

“All I gotta say is, I am so glad my wife has Snapchat, because now y’all can know the truth and can’t nobody talk s**t about ‘Ye no more,” the Mirror quoted him as saying at the launch of the song Famous at Drake’s concert last week.
