Manchester United is plagued by goal-drought this season. The Red Devils lost 3-2 at Wolfsburg in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday and crashed out of the tournament after being demoted to the third slot of the group B. The Premiership giants are eager to boost their striking force.
According to reports, United are preparing to pounce on Neymar with a $215 million offer to Barcelona. Neymar, the Brazilian sensation, recently clarified he is happy with the Spanish champions. But latest reports suggests that the club could be forced to sell one of heir three-pronged Latin American attackers, Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez or Neymar due to financial pressure.
United are also eyeing Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo. Dutch coach Louis Van Gaal has also expressed his concerns about the strikers’ failure to score and lift the side at the key moments. And his club is ready to move as soon as January to recruit the Brazilian hitman. Van Gaal has made up his mind to pour 75 percent of the £200 million transfer slush fund to rope in the Brazilian.
For this purpose, the United are looking to smash the previous record of £143.9 million transfer fee, which would bail-out Barcelona from a long-term financial crisis.
