‘Empire’ Season 2 Climbs Up Ratings Ladder
After its power-packed finale, “Empire” season 3 ratings were expected to be high. But this was not the fact, as it saw a sharp decline, which made people believe that the show has lost its charm. Things have changed a bit, with the curve moving upward, giving a hint of higher ratings from viewers.Advertisement
The show is heading toward its first break, and this time, it has scored high among the number of adults viewing the show. The number is just similar to the number received by the next two top shows combined. The show that holds the second spot is Game 4 of baseball’s National League Championship Series between the New York Mets and Chicago Cubs. This show got 2.4 rating in adults 18-49 with 7.935 million viewers. The previous night’s game also had a high ratting.
As far as “Empire” season 3 is concerned, it received 4.8 rating for 18-49 age-group and 12.28 million viewers overall from 9 to 10 p.m. slot. The rating was higher than the previous week. It was also the first time the show had a positive week-over-week gain.
Empire though declined in rating for some episodes but had still managed to be at the top, doubling from the no. 2 program “Modern Family.” The show will be off next week due to the telecast of Game 2 of the World Series. The show may be off on November 4, too, if there is a requirement of a seventh game. This increased ratings were much required to boost the confidence of the show runners.
