What's This?

Ellen DeGeneres is more than just a talk show host. On Monday, she launched her own online dance competition.

The 58-year-old TV personality’s “tWitch & Allison’s Dance Challenge” is touted as the first original digital series exclusively created for her video website EllenTube and produced by Ellen Digital Ventures, a partnership between the famous host and Warner Bros.

As a dance showdown, it will be hosted and judged by “The Ellen DeGeneres Show’s” DJ Stephen “tWitch” Boss and “Dancing With The Stars” Allison Holker, his wife.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the eight-episode program will feature six children, between 10 and 14 years old, who will compete to become the best dancer in various genres, including contemporary, hip-hop and pop animation.

The Ellen DeGeneres’ digital dance series will have Boss and Holker act as the contestants’ mentor in teams as they dance their way towards working with Emmy award-winning choreographer Travis Wall.

The show’s first three episodes will be aired in April on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” but all eight will be featured exclusively on EllenTube. The winner of “tWitch & Allison’s Dance Challenge” will be performing live on the syndicated talk show in May.

In another news report, American actor Johnathon Schaech clarified the dating rumors thrown at him and the stand-up comedienne. On Monday’s Reddit Ask Me Anything, the 46-year-old “Quantico” star was asked by a fan, “Is it true that you dated Ellen DeGeneres? I saw that online one time that someone said you had dated and didn’t believe it, but when I googled you and Ellen, pictures came up!”

He then replied that he and DeGeneres were not an item; he was only protecting her. “My manager asked me to accompany her to events,” he said. “She was scared people would not watch the show, her sitcom ‘Ellen,’ because she was gay.”

However, his chance of working with her was short-lived. “I was supposed to perform in her coming out episode but I ran the marathon and couldn’t walk the next day, the network fired me cause they thought I was lame,” he said about the project he had with Ellen DeGeneres before.
