This is proven by the shocking news that the author of “Eat, Pray, Love,” Elizabeth Gilbert has decided to split from her husband of 12 years – Jose Nunes a.k.a “Felipe.” At least, that is what most fans think now.Advertisement
The author has took to social media to share the news of her divorce even though she has not cited any specific reasons for the same:
“I am separating from the man whom many of you know as “Felipe”—the man whom I fell I love with at the end of the EAT PRAY LOVE journey. He has been my dear companion for over 12 years, and they have been wonderful years. Our split is very amicable. Our reasons are very personal.”
After appealing to her fans and followers to respect her privacy in the trying times, she proceeded to share a poem written by Jack Gilbert titled “Failing and Flying” that has found solace in, reports E! Online.
Elizabeth met her husband on her world tour ,which included countries such as Italy, Bali and India. The story of their budding romance is chronicled in her hit memoir “Eat, Pray Love,”which has sold over 10 million copies, where she calls her husband “Felipe”.
In an interview with PEOPLE, Elizabeth said, “The husband was my favorite souvenir of that trip.” Her book was later developed into a movie by the same name, which starred Julia Roberts and Javier Barden.
Elizabeth and her husband often used to travel worldwide to promote their business together. Did all the traveling take a toll on their personal lives?
