Drake Tops Artist 100 Before ‘Views From The 6’ Spotify Release

After a historic week of chart-topping album sales, the interest in Drake’s “Views” is not letting on. In fact, it seems to have doubled, or even tripled.
Last week, it was atop both the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart and the Billboard 200 albums tally. Now, Drake has conquered the Billboard Artist 100 Chart (dated May 21), as reported by Billboard magazine. All because of the interest on his new album.
Why is this impressive? Because Artist 100 takes into account activity of an artist across Billboard’s hottest charts: the Hot 100, the Top Album Sales, and the Social 50. For Drake to be top of the Billboard Artist 100 is saying a lot.
This means Drake did amazing on not only album and track sales, but also on radio airplay as well as streaming and social media fan interaction! Many are not just listening to his albums, especially “Views from the 6”, but fans are actually talking about it, even searching for news on Drake and the album.
Following Drake closely on the top of the Artist 100 is Beyonce. Prince is at the third spot, followed by Justin Bieber, and Drake’s rumored girlfriend, Rihanna.
Meanwhile, the artist’s “Views from the 6” may be out on Spotify and other streaming sites come this Friday May 13. The exclusivity that it afforded Apple Music really did wonders, but the album can only do so much better when it becomes more open to all sorts of music consumers.
Drake’s fans can also catch him on the upcoming episode of “Saturday Night Live.” The promo is already promises great, hilarious things to happen. The teaser showed th the Canadian rapper and “SNL” cast member Leslie Jones goofing around, with Jones finding herself unable to restrain herself from touching Drake’s butt, as reported by Pitchfork.
