Drake’s “One Dance” made it to Billboard’s Hot 100, making the leap his first top hit as a lead artist.
Featuring WizKid and Kyla, “One Dance” went ahead of Desiigner’s “Panda” which slipped to number two this week.
Drake is also up in top 6 as a guest for Rihanna’s “Work,” Rap Up said. “Work” have secured its top 1 spot in Billboard for six weeks.
According to Billboard, Drake also has 20 songs in the latest Hot 100 list, which included 16 debuts from his latest album “View from the 6.” He surpassed Justin Bieber’s 13 debuts last year.
The 29-year-old rapper who hailed from Toronto, Canada, has only reached the top spot as Rihanna’s guest on “What’s My Name” in 2010 and her latest “Work.”
The rapper’s chart topping hits in Billboard Hot 100 were the “Best I Ever Had” in 2009 and “Hotline Bling” in 2015.
In his Instagram post last year, Drake said that he has always been making music for Toronto and it matters to him if he received a number 1 top spot.
“I spend my life trying to make waves for the city I am from,” he said. “No accolades really matter to me other than the fact that I have never had a billboard number one. If I get my first number one during the month of October it will be the biggest moment of my career to date (in my mind) and if you are looking for me on that particular evening I will be passed out in the water slide that connects to our pool.”
Drake’s “One Dance” is included in his “Views from the 6” albums.
