Former fashion model Ivana Trump, who was married to Donald Trump from 1977 to 1992, expressed her opinions about Trump’s views on immigrants. The Czech-American socialite also talked about her perspective on how immigration is both an economic burden and a necessity, possibly insulting some Mexicans.
In a recent interview with the New York Post, Ivana stated, “I have nothing against Mexicans, but if they come here in the U.S. — like this 19-year-old, she’s pregnant, she crossed over a wall that’s this high — she gives the birth in American hospital, which is for free. The child becomes an American automatically. She brings the whole family, she doesn’t pay the taxes, she doesn’t have a job, she gets the housing, she gets the food stamps. Who’s paying? You and me.”
She said, however, that legal immigrants form an important group of people because they “clean up” after Americans. She said immigrants clean rooms and do jobs Americans will not do. So as long as they are legal migrants, they should be allowed in.
“As long as you come here legally and get a proper job . . . we need immigrants. Who’s going to vacuum our living rooms and clean up after us? Americans don’t like to do that.” Uh-oh.
She also talked about her ex-husband’s earlier presidential run, which should’ve happened decades ago. Ivana said that five years before their divorce, somebody brought Trump a letter encouraging him to run for president. Trump really thought about it.
But when the process of their divorce went public, it turned out the business mogul decided to decline the campaign, as American women loved Ivana and hated him. However, the idea of running for first position in the White House always ran on Trump’s mind.
Somehow, though, the American businessman, politician, and TV personality is running for the president of the United States in the 2016 elections. Ivana, for years, has settled down the conflict with her ex-husband, and she now acts as her estranged husband’s cheerleader and, at times, adviser.
Recently, Ivana shared a picture of Theodore, her new grandson from Ivanka Trump, as reported by Mail Online UK. She captioned the photo with “My heart is full.”
