Donald Trump Questions Female Reporter’s Bruises: ‘She Did Not Scream!’
Donald Trump is in full support of his campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, who was accused of injuring a female reporter earlier this month. Trump said the female reporter’s bruises might have been there to begin with and that she only blamed Lewandowski.Advertisement
Breitbart News reporter Michelle Fields posted a picture of her bruises, stating she was attacked by the campaign manager, USA Today reported. She said she already went to the police to report this. After reviewing the footage, Donald Trump had the audacity to raise the possibility that Fields is just faking.
“Who said they were bruises from that? How do you know those bruises weren’t there before?” Trump asked.
Trump said Fields should have screamed if she was truly hurt by his campaign manager. According to Trump, the protest should have been stronger if she was indeed hurt. “To me, you know if you’re going to get squeezed, wouldn’t you think that she would have yelled out a scream or something?” he said, adding, “Take a look at her facial expression, her facial expression doesn’t even change.”
Donald Trump said he is supporting his campaign manager because he knows that this is just a strategy to ruin Lewandowski’s life. “I’m sticking up for a person because I’m not going to let a person’s life be destroyed over (an incident) that we have on tape, and you just take a look at what people are saying when they see that incident on tape.”
He added that the reporter will find it hard to convince the jury that she was hurt by his campaign manager. “No jury, in my opinion, no jury would convict a man and destroy a man’s life over what you witnessed.”
However, according to the police report, Lewandowski grabbed Fields’ arm to pull her back from asking questions. It is a crime as per Florida law to intentionally touch another person against her will. Lewandowski denied all charges.
According to The Guardian, CNN town hall was intrigued by the incident and is split among their reactions. While asked, John Kasich said he would have fired the campaign manager for the incident.
