Will Donald Trump win in this debate? Who knows, but at least he has confirmed he will join the CNN debate after threatening not to join unless CNN give him $5 million.
Donald Trump may be quite pissed and irritated with CNN, but Donald Trump says he will still be attending the network’s debate on the 15th.
Trump has confirmed this with The Washington Post who spoke with the presidential candidate at the National Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia. He said he would be taking “too big of a risk” if he chooses not to participate in the upcoming debate. Moreover, he explained, “I don’t think I have the kind of leverage I’d like to have in a deal and I don’t want to take the chance of hurting my campaign.”
Trump may have already said he is going to appear at CNN’s event, but that does not mean he is not thinking about monetary compensation for his appearance. During a weekend rally at Macon, Georgia, the leading Republican nominee had reportedly suggested that CNN should be paying him $5 million for his appearance. Back then, Trump even told the crowd that he would not be doing the debate “unless they pay men.” Moreover, he also remarked that CNN “doesn’t treat me properly.”
Meanwhile, CNN continues its coverage of Trump. Today, the network focused on Trump’s recent appearance on Fox News show “Fox and Friends” where he suggested that families of terrorists should also be taken out. During the interview, Trump explained, “When they say they don’t care about their lives, you have to take out their families.”
CNN’s GOP Forum is scheduled to be held in Las Vegas on December 15. Will Trump win this debate? Let’s all find out soon.
