Donald Trump Biopic Led By Johnny Depp, Thanks To Funny Or Die
Everybody loves Johnny Depp, but what if one day you wake up to learn that the “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor stars as a U.S. presidential candidate? The Donald Trump biopic, “Funny or Die Presents Donald Trump’s The Art of the Deal: The Movie,” was first shown in the Funny or Die website.Advertisement
The 50-minute-long movie was a project of Funny or Die, and they have kept it from the public for months. According to NY Times, the Donald Trump biopic was released in time for Trump’s positive New Hampshire Republican presidential primary on Tuesday.
The actor, Johnny Depp, was dressed in a typical Donal Trump outfit: a suit and tie. Not only that – to look “exactly” like Trump, Depp was made-up with prosthetica and a blonde wig. He became different than the feisty, cool, and creative-looking man we know.
The film’s idea was to create a satirical biography for Trump as a funny man. The Huffington Post shares the Funny or Die Editor-in-Chief’s mind over the secret. “The plan was to move really fast because we thought Trump would go away, as least as a presidential candidate.” Owen Burke added, “When he bizarrely didn’t go away, we had a little more time. But that meant keeping the secret for longer.”
Aside from Depp, the cast includes Michaela Watkins as Ivana Trump, Alfred Molina, Jacob Tremblay, Patton Oswalt, Jack McBrayer, and Kristen Schaal. If you want to watch the full 6-part movie, head on to the Funny or Die website. But for starters, have a good laugh at the trailer.
