PS4 is still leading the race. Microsoft’s Xbox One has to do the catching up now. To beat Sony’s PS4, Microsoft is trying its best – exclusive games, free titles, deals, discounts and what not. This time, just before The Division Open Beta could begin on PS4, Xbox One launched it earlier. Good job, Microsoft!
The Division Open Beta went live on February 18 while it is made available on PS4 and PC today. Being a beta version, it is free right now. The actual release date The Division is March 8. Also, before you download the game, here is a reminder: Tom Clancy’s The Division Beta is a pre-release version of the game and hence may lack a few features. The quality of the game may also be different from that of an original, full version of the game.
The Division Open Beta “will only function during specific time frames,” said Xbox team in the announcement post. On the site of The Division Open Beta, the company has written, “If this isn’t your first time playing The Division, you’ll be able to discover a new story mission that wasn’t in the closed beta. Also, everyone who participates in the open beta gets access to a special in-game reward that can be unlocked in Uplay when the full game is released for Xbox One, PS4, and PC on March 8.” In the beta version, players will be able to
- Customize characters
- play either solo or co-op
- go on missions
- get into the Dark Zone
“As an agent of The Division, you’ll specialize, modify, and level up your gear, weapons, and skills to take back New York on your own terms,” reads the post published on the site dedicated to The Division Open Beta.
