The iconic character, Han Solo may have hinted what fans could expect when Disney decides to make the franchise a big part of its theme park expansion. In fact, Harrison Ford, the actor who plays the role, revealed that Disney may take up most of the production design into Disneyland.
Last Sunday, Ford attended ABC’s Disneyland 60 Tribute at Walt Disney’s first theme park, reports Entertainment Weekly. While there, Ford revealed that the Star Wars Experience will play a huge role in the park expansion updated in the company’s Disneyland venues in Orlando and Anaheim, Florida.
Ford stated, “Star Wars is, for lack of a better word… awesome. I’m so blessed that I had the opportunity to be a part of it – to walk in these iconic locations. And soon, you’ll be able to do that as well. Not in a galaxy far, far away, but in a place closer to home.”
His statement reflects what was shown off during the telecast – that fans would be able to ride the Millennium Falcon while the Star Wars music plays in the background.
In fact, Slash Film reports that Disney may have hinted how the new Disneyland locations will look like after the company finish incorporating the franchise in its venues. Given that it was already revealed that the guests may engage themselves in a battle between the Resistance and the First Order, fans would also get to have a personal meet-and-greet with aliens and droids in the film. They would be able to do so by accessing the street market and have a taste of Star Wars dishes such as the Bantha milk.
Furthermore, it was also revealed that a dinner club would be featured as well as a local cantina.
While the plans are still incomplete at the moment, Star Wars fans can enjoy future installments “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” this December 16, 2016 and “Star Wars: Episode VIII” this December 15, 2017.
