Disney Announces Frozen 2, Director Jennifer Lee Returns
In an announcement during Walt Disney Co.’s annual shareholders meeting in San Francisco on Thursday, Disney revealed they are indeed making “Frozen 2,” a follow-up to the 2013 hit animated movie “Frozen.”
It is also confirmed that the first movie’s directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck are slated to return, Variety reported.
The announcement was made when John Lasseter, together with Bob Iger, Disney chief, mentioned the upcoming short “Frozen Fever,” which will be shown alongside the live-action adaptation of “Cinderella.”
“We enjoyed making ‘Frozen Fever’ so much and being back in that world with those characters,” Lasseter said. “Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck have come up with a great idea for a sequel and you will be hearing a lot more about it and we’re taking you back to Arendelle. We are so excited about that.”
Kristen Bell, who lends the voice of Anna, tweeted a picture of herself resting against a bag of ice.

On the other hand, Tony winner Idina Menzel had already confirmed that a sequel to “Frozen” is indeed in the works.
“Not the stage show – I don’t know what will happen with that – but the movie hopefully. We’ll see. I’m just going along for the ride,” she said during an interview with Telegraph.
Fans of the royal sisters will still to wait for a little while before a Frozen 2 trailer surfaces within the year or next.
