The Houston Rockets have traded Donatas Motiejunas to the Detroit Pistons during deadline day. But the back injuries of Motiejunas could void the trade. The Pistons have asked for more time.
The Rockets moved Motiejunas to the Pistons along with Marcus Thornton for a 2016 first-round pick. But Motiejunas last featured for the Rockets on December 31 before a back sore problem sidelined him, reports the Real GM. Since then, he played a handful of D-League games for the Rockets’ associate.
“We’ll see. If they don’t give us more time, we’d have to make a decision,” Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy revealed to reporters on Sunday.
To determine whether Motiejunas can feature for them or not, the Pistons have asked the League for an additional 24 hours of the 72-hour trade window.
NBA has granted the Piston’s request for extension for the completion of trade, according to ESPN. The Pistons and Rockets have until 6 p.m. ET on Monday to ratify the trade, as revealed by Van Gundy after the Rockets lost to the Pelicans on Sunday.
