DeMarcus Cousins trade rumors will not end as he is continuously being linked to several contenders. While the Sacramento Kings declared they have no intentions to trade Cousins, here are the possible trade destinations for the All-Star center.
Joining The King In Cleveland
The Cleveland Cavaliers reportedly reached out to the Kings about a possible deal. The talks did not yield any deal between the two teams, but it appears the Cavaliers are still the most logical landing spot for the mercurial center.
King James Gospel previously tackled a scenario where Cousins will join LeBron James in Cleveland. The deal could involve Kevin Love and Iman Shumpert, while the Kings could also give up Ben McLemore in the process.
Teaming Up With USA Basketball Buddy Carmelo Anthony
The New York Knicks are also mentioned among the possible landing spots for Cousins. The Knicks made roster moves this offseason but not enough to form a championship contender for next season.
Acquiring Cousins could change that notion, though, as they will acquire a dominant center to help Carmelo Anthony. Cousins has also told Sacramento Bee earlier this year that he is a big fan of his USA Basketball teammate.
Reinforcing The Young Celtics Squad
The Boston Celtics bolstered their frontline this summer with Al Horford’s arrival. Another help could come soon, though, if they somehow manage to convince the Kings to part ways with Cousins.
Cousins could make the Celtics the second-best team in Eastern Conference — next to the Cavaliers. Hardwood Houdini previously reported he could move to Boston in a deal involving Marcus Smart and Amir Johnson.
Reuniting With Rajon Rondo In Windy City
The Chicago Bulls are also ideal for Cousins if he requests a trade soon. The Bulls recently signed Rajon Rondo, who has played well alongside Cousins in Sacramento last season. The Bulls have young pieces like Nikola Mirotic, Denzel Valentine and Bobby Portis to throw in a possible trade with the Kings.
DeMarcus Cousins Making The Rich Even Richer In Bay Area
If the Kings remained firm on their stance to keep Cousins, the superstar center might end up joining the Golden State Warriors in the future. With no NBA title in sight in Sacramento, Cousins might do a Kevin Durant when he hits free agency and join the Warriors to get a better shot at winning his first championship ring.
