Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds, star of upcoming American superhero movie based on the Marvel Comics Deadpool, is gearing up for the Super Bowl.
Deadpool, helmed by American animator and creative director Tim Miller, will have a major presence surrounding the annual championship game of the National Football League on February 7 held at the Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
Reportedly, a large number of public events are planned for the Deadpool film, which industry companies Marvel Studios and 20th Century Fox slated to fire up in theaters on February 12, 2016.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Ryan Reynolds will take control of a food truck Friday night and hand out Deadpool’s favorite chimichangas. And on Saturday, Marvel Studios together with Fox Entertainment will take over a spot adjacent to the stadium, renaming the area as Sister Margaret’s Bar after the watering hole in Deadpool.
Adding to their participation in the Super Bowl, Reynolds and co-star T.J. Miller (actor, voice actor, and comedian) will play darts and distribute drinks.
Fox also will promote the film heavily on social media throughout the Super Bowl weekend, including taking over the most famous messaging app among teenagers – Snapchat.
Reynolds’ the Deadpool will definitely attract moviegoers as this year’s broadcast of the Super Bowl on CBS is the most-watched live television event of any given year. Last year, the event gathered around 114.4 million people to watch the game on NBC.
Deadpool, which recounts the origin story of Wade Wilson, is slated to hit theaters on February 12, 2016.
