Recently, actors like “Smallville’s: Alan Ritchson and others have been campaigning to be cast as Shazam for DCEU. While fans believed that the celebrities were talks for a standalone movie, it looks like one of the actor could be playing the DC superhero earlier in Zack Snyder’s film.


A credible Comic Book Movie journalist recently hinted Shazam to be part of DCEU. Moreover, the image he shared has caused major speculation and discussion among fans on social media.

The Wrap’s film reporter, Umberto Gonzalez twitted “SHAZAM!” tagging a photo he shared on his official Instagram account. Fans can check it out below.

The image reveals Shazam standing up to a fallen Superman, ready to aid him. The comic photo seems to be teasing a cameo of Shazam along with Man of Steel. It is possible that Shazam could have a cameo with Superman in Justice League movie. However, the hint is too vague to speculate it any further.

Earlier in September, Alan Ritchson embraced his DCEU superhero role on Twitter. Although the actor answered to a fan’s question and agreed that he will be playing Shazam, Warner Bros. haven’t made their official announcement yet.

Alan Ritchson was earlier known for playing as Aquaman in Smallville TV Series. As the actor managed to appeal to the audience in the DC TV Show, fans are hoping Ritchson would be cast for DC Cinematic Universe as well.

Earlier in 2014, Dawyne Johnson confirmed that he will play as Black Adam, the main villain for the DCEU title. Currently, no other cast members have been revealed for the movie.

The standalone Shazam movie is expected for a release in 2019. The title is currently in the scripting phase by Bill Birch and DC Comics COO and President Geoff Johns.
