DC Extended Universe: Jared Leto Talks About Joker, Batman ‘Suicide Squad’ Screen Time Revealed?
Since the initial trailer reveal by Suicide Squad, fans have been waiting to see Jared Leto as Joker in action more than the Task Force X. While people are questioning his ability to fit Heath Ledger’s shoes, there have been debates on reddit and other forums siding over Leto.Advertisement
Will Smith, Margot Robbie and many other celebrities have shared their experience playing their villainous characters. But how did Leto transform himself into the worst mindless supervillain DC Cinematic Universe will ever know?
During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Leto spoke about his Suicide Squad role as Joker. “You’re kind of walking upon hallowed ground, and it deserves the very best that you can do, It takes over your life and that’s what I needed to do for myself,” the actor said.
The Oscar-winning actor went all the way to meeting psychiatrists and their patients to understand the motivating factor of a sociopath. “You don’t know what the Joker is going to do next; you never do. It was intoxicating to have no rules,” he added.
The actor seemed to kept playing the role off-screen as well as his mischievous pranks and creepiness in real life. Leto sent a live rat to Margot Robbie. He later sent porn magazines, dildo and used condom as a celebration gift when the team wrapped up production.
While his co-star were open-minded to take his act as “fun”, Director David Ayer felt that “he was scary on set.” and “was intimidating. He’d show up and it was like, ‘Dude, you are f—-ing creepy.’”
In other news, we came across an anonymous unconfirmed report on reddit suggesting the screen time of Ben Affleck’s Batman appearance throughout Suicide Squad. According to TheNerdWonder, his sources got to witness the Dark Knight for “10 minutes maximum” during the private screening of the movie.
