‘Dance Moms’ Update: ‘Maddie Ziegler’ Will Star In Her First Movie With Sia Writing And Directing
So “Dance Moms“ fans who loved “Maddie Ziegler” in the previous season will have more of her as she will start gracing Hollywood with her first ever movie.
Sia, who already previously featured Maddie in her videos, “Chandelier” and “Elastic Heart,” shared her desire to create movie for a script she wrote years back.
In an interview reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Sia said the wasn’t confident in showing the world her desire to make a movie. But her “Chandelier” video, which she co-directed, paved the way to her increased confidence.
“And then last year, after I made the ‘Chandelier’ video, I realized that I was pretty good at directing, so I felt a little bit braver.”
The new film, which will star Dance Moms’ Maggie Ziegler, is called “Sister.”
Sia and Ziegler, revealed by Latin Post, have developed a relationship off camera. The 12-year old dancer said that even on days they’re not shooting or performing together, they would hang out and “watch television together.”
“We started working together because she’s actually a fan of our show ‘Dance Moms,'” Ziegler said in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar. “She tweeted me and said that she would love to work with me and she wants me to be in her new music video for ‘Chandelier,’ which was her new song at the time.”
Ziegler has appeared in other TV shows like “Pretty Little Liars” and “Drop Dead Diva.” She has performed with Sia on shows like “Saturday Night Live” and “Ellen DeGeneres” show.
